Locations for our Video

Looking at our main inspirational video, Nickelback - Rockstar, you can see that there are many different locations used during the video. This is something that we are looking to incorporate into our video - especially as we are looking to replicate the style shown in the Rockstar video. During the Rockstar video we have counted that there are 73 different locations used throughout the video, many of which are repeated numerous times. Certain locations are repeated, however with different people in them i.e. the members of public in New York city. Conversely there are a number of times when certain celebrities are used on a number of occasions e.g. Gene Simmons is shown 3/4 times throughout the video.

To allow us to create an interesting video, like the Rockstar video, we have decided that we need to included nearly as many different locations, with equally as many different people. So we have decided that we are to visit various places to ensure that we achieve our goal. We have come to the conclusion that we are to visit local and national towns and cities to ensure that we get as many people as possible to be in our Toploader video. For example we are to visit Leicester, and other other cities such as Birmingham and London (so we can included landmarks - similar to that in Rockstar) This is in addition to filming a few people in and around the local villages of Lutterworth (including people from within the school). For example filming customers in a popular pub in south Leicestershire called The Chequers. However, we have also noticed that we cant just film random people, we need to select certain members of the public to ensure we get the right mix of people - shown in Nickelback's Rockstar video. This will include many different people such as both genders, different ethnicity's, old and young etc.

As I previously stated we want to include landmarks in our video, this is to give our music video a sense of identity. For example we want to include locations such as The Bullring, NEC and LG Arena in Birmingham, and the many different landmarks in London such as Big Ben, and London Eye etc. This is in addition to filming people in the streets of these cities similar to that in the Rockstar video.
