Above is a prezi we have created showing a sample of our feedback we have received either through social media e.g. Facebook & Twitter, or through word of mouth. It shows a variety of different opinions that we have gathered, both good and some constructive criticism. Overall what we have learned from the feedback we have received is that the majority of people like the video, and enjoy the 'randomness' about the film. However some people have explained their reasons for disliking the video, some of the reasons were; needed a wider variety of people in the video, and needed to think about our locations more. These are both aspects of the film we were worried about, however we found it difficult to ensure that people kept to their word that they were to be in our film. Prior to filming we agreed with certain people that they were to be in our film, however when it came to filming many of them decided to pull out, leaving us with little time to find the correct balance with the types of people in our video. This is something which Liam had highlighted to us when he contacted us.
In addition to this, we were also told that the lighting in certain parts of the film didn't quite work, and perhaps was too dark. This was something we weren't too aware about at the time of filming, and as we edited the film, we noticed that it was dark but was still ok. However the overall quality of the video was harmed when we rendered the film into a WMV file to make it playable on all formats. The video was filmed on a HD digital camera, however we then discovered that Sony Vegas wasn't compatible with the format in which it was filmed in, so we had to convert this into MP4 - where the quality was also harmed.
However prior to filming, we sought advice from different avenues in a bid to make this unconventional video a success. To begin with we discussed with our teacher the type of people that we needed to be in our video. This was to ensure that we had a good variation of people, from old and young and to both genders. In addition to this we also discussed the details of the locations of our shots. This was because it was discovered after our draft that we didn't really consider this very well, and it could be shown by the mise en scene in some shots. So when we came round to filming the final version, we had to plan out where we would film our shots, and who would be in them - rather than a more random approach to it.
After producing our draft effort, we sought feedback from friends in order to find ways of improving the video. We were told that the variation of people in our draft video was poor, and that we must find a better variety of people in our video to make the final one more interesting. In addition to this, while filming we also took a little advice from the people who we were filming, this was to ensure that felt comfortable whilst being filmed. Some examples of this were to change the camera angles etc. Following the production of our video, we posted it onto our Facebook pages to get as many people to view it as possible to raise awareness for the video, and to receive additional feedback. Below is a small sample of the additional feedback we have received.
